Ecological recycling at its best! This hyacinth was removed from the dams in Delta Park, left to dry and then spread over the rehabilitation site as both water retention and natural compost for the grasses we are trying to encourage to grow.
We investigated some sort of mechanical way to chop up the hyacinth but due to its stringy nature, it was decided just to pack the dried water weed on the site. Thank you again Shirley Tebbutt for your efforts in removing this water invasive!
